HIGH PINES BLUEJAY (2007)

Blue Jays are clever and adaptable birds whose aggressive behaviour makes them unpopular at feeders. The turquoise and lavender colour of their feathers is due to the way the feather structure refracts light. If this structure is compromised, the blue disappears.
